Joseph ‘Joe’ Manolidis

Joseph “Joe” Manolidis, 77, a resident of Norton, West Virginia, departed this life Friday, May 22, 2026, at the West Virginia Caring Hospice Center in Elkins, West Virginia, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Saturday, Oct. 2, 1948, at Elkins, West Virginia, a son of the late Jim Manolidis and Augustine June Ware Manolidis.
On Aug. 17, 1975, at Elkins, West Virginia, he was married to the former Anita Rose “Becky” Bertelli, who survives.
Also surviving are one son, Junior Lamarne and wife, Sena; three daughters, Antoinette Haynes and husband, Earl, Tina Brown and husband, Maurice, and Michelle Lamarne, all of Elkins; two brothers, Rodney Manolidis and wife, Rose, and Paul “Nick” Manolidis and wife, Helen, all of Elkins; one sister, Barbara J. “Susie” Warner, all of Elkins; four grandchildren, Heather Haynes, Allyson Haynes, Trace Brown and Devan Lamarne; and two great- grandchildren, Julian Haynes and Alex Haynes.
Preceding him in death are one brother, James Christopher “Jessie” Manolidis; and one sister, Patty Corcoran.
He was a graduate of Elkins High School with the Class of 1966 and had worked at Colonial Mill Works as a Fork Life Operator, from which he retired. His hobbies included bowling, hunting, fishing and hunting for ginseng. Joe enjoyed the outdoors very much. Most of all he enjoyed being “Poppa Joe” to six very special grandchildren who he adored.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins, West Virginia, on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, from 10 a.m. to noon.
Final rites will be conducted from the funeral home, Wednesday at noon.
Pastor Nate Bennett will officiate and interment will follow at the Elkins Memorial Gardens on the Airport Road in Elkins, West Virginia.
