Thomas Edward ‘Tom’ Pharis

Mr. Thomas Edward âTomã Pharis, 65, a resident of Belington departed this life Friday May 1, 2026, in the Ruby Memorial Hospital at Morgantown, West Virginia. Death was following a period of declining health.
He was born April 4, 1961 at Elkins, West Virginia, a son of the late Harl Edward and Nancy Jane (Ware) Pharis. On June 20, 2007, he was united in marriage to the former Brenda Kay Meadows, who survives at their home in Belington.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by six children, Thomas “Tommy” Pharis II and wife, Kimberly, Zachary Pharis and wife, Peggy, Matraca Pharis, Raymond Pharis and fiance, Brittany, Austin Pharis and Chelsea Wolfe and husband, Brandon, all of Belington. Additional survivors include three very close friends whom Tom thought the world of, Carl Sperry, George Jenkins and Perry âBuckã Ross.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters; Anita Jane, Pharis and Judy Lynn Weese; and one infant son Christopher.
Tom attended the schools of Barbour County. He was self-employed as a logger for several years with his father at Pharis Enterprise and later in life he worked as a mechanic for the QuickPit in Philippi.
He loved to spend his time farming, hunting and fishing, specifically cat-fishing and he also enjoyed trading and watching his favorite westerns. Tom dearly loved spending time with his family especially with his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home 56 N. Brandenburg Street in Belington on Thursday May 7, 2026, from 6-8 p.m. and again on Friday May 8, 2026, from 8-11 a.m. the funeral hour, at which time final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with Preacher Pat Andrews officiating. Interment will follow in the Trinity Cemetery near Belington.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the Talbott Funeral Home P.O. Box 879 Belington, WV 26250 to assist with final expenses.
