Travis Lee Veal

Veal

Travis Lee Veal, 46, a native of Tucker County, and a resident of Knoxville, Tennessee, departed this life Tuesday, May 5, 2026. Death was unexpected.

He was born Friday, Aug. 10, 1979, at Knoxville, Tennessee, a son of Barbara Kay Davis Dearborn and David Allen Veal. His stepfather, Calvin Scott Dearborn, and his biological father, Jack Lee Crabtree, who survives.

Also surviving are his companion, Emily Kathryn, Quinton of Tennessee; two daughters, Eloise Elizabeth Veal and Elliotte Quinton Veal, who were the light of his life; two brothers, Christopher David Veal and wife, Katie, of Parsons, and Nick Crabtree and wife, Dawn; eight aunts, Vickie, Kathy, Angie, Tina, Becky, Sandy, Mandy and Ann; four uncles, Rick, VJ, John, and Andrew; 10 cousins, Luke, Cassie, Trevin, RJ, Nick, Scott, Steven, Ashley, Gary and Andrea; two nephews, Coy and Baker; two nieces, Molly and Taylor; and a niece on the way, Ainslee Marie Veal; and one grandmother, Judy Dearborn.

Preceding him in death are his grandparents, Verl and Elsie Davis and Unav and Albert Veal and Murray Dearborn; and one aunt, Susan Jeanette Hershman.

He was a graduate of Tucker County High School with the class of 1997, where he played three years of football.

After high school, he enlisted with the United States Navy, from 1997 until 2001, with the Special Intelligence Unit. Following his time in the Navy, he attended West Virginia University, Virginia Tech and graduated with a nursing degree from Pellissippi State Community College. He had worked at the Fort Sanders Hospital in the emergency Deptartment for 15 years and was currently working with adolescent autistic children.

Travis enjoyed the outdoors. He was a family man who spent all of his free time with his two daughters, whom he adored. He loved his family very much and will be missed immensely.

A visitation will take place at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons, West Virginia on Monday, May 11, 2026, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.. On Monday, at 1 p.m., a Celebration of Life will take place. The Reverend James Snyder will officiate.
