Christopher Delano See, 65, a resident of Valley Bend, passed from this life Sunday, June 28, 2026, at WV Caring Hospice Inpatient Center in Elkins following a brief illness.
Chris was born Monday, April 24, 1961, in Elkins, a son of late Franklin Delano See and Jo Ellen Hewitt.
On Aug. 29, 1981, he was married to the former Deborah Ann Baer, who survives. They had celebrated 45 years of marriage.
Also left to cherish Chris’ memory are two children, Adam Christopher See and fiance, Kayla, of Valley Bend, and Samantha Belmontes and husband, Shaun, of Mesa, Arizona; six grandchildren, Winston, Arya, Miles, Laila, Eden and Holland; four siblings, Kim Barrick Currence, Debbie Tenney, Stephanie Warner and Franklin See; his mother-in-law, Anna Baer; two sisters-in-law, Vickie Pennington and husband, Frank, and Amy Ware; one brother-in-law, Rev. Robert Baer; two special nieces, Alyssa and Elizabeth; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Chris in death besides his parents was his father-in-law, Rev. Robert Baer; and two brothers-in-law, Bill Currence and Bobby Ware
Chris was a graduate of Tygarts Valley High School with the class of 1979. He was the owner/operator of Elkins Mobil for 25 years before opening See’s Automotive which he operated for 10 years. One of Chris’ proudest ventures was serving the people of Randolph County as County Commissioner. He loved the people of the county and considered all the residents as friends.
He enjoyed sports and watching football and racing. He was also a hunting and cooking enthusiast. He loved his family and spending time with them, but his grandchildren were the apple of his eye.
Services for Chris will be private.
