Martha Ann Stalnaker Arbogast

Mrs. Martha Ann “Marty” Stalnaker Arbogast, 88 a resident of Mansfield Place at Philippi, departed this life Monday afternoon June 8, 2026, in the care facility. She had been in failing health for the past several months.
She was born July 21, 1937 at Philippi, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Rupert Holbert and Ethel Harvey Stalnaker. She was raised by her grandmother, Emma Stalnaker Rosenberger.
On Aug. 27, 1955, she was united in marriage to David E. Arbogast, who preceded her in death on Sept. 22, 2009.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Richard Mowbry, Crystal Mowbry Wolfe, Melissa Rawley, David E. Morris, Robert A. Morris and Mandy Ellen Morris; a special friend and care-giver, Sheilah Crihfield, of Belington and many other friends.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one son, Richard Mowbry; and one daughter, Vicki Morris.
She was a 1955 graduate of the Belington High School and was formerly a receptionist at a Ford dealership in Virginia. She attended the Westside United Methodist Church and was a devout Christian and lived her faith daily.
Marty’s wishes for cremation will be honored. A graveside service will be conducted at the Church of the Brethren Cemetery in Junior on Saturday June 20, 2026, at 11 a.m., her cremains will be interred beside her husband Dave.
