Naola “Mae” Shipp, 86, of Elkins, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2026, surrounded by her family.
Born July 15, 1939, in Randolph County, she was the daughter of the late Cleophus and Elva Blanch (Cross) Hart. Mae attended Davis & Elkins College and was a lifelong area resident known for her warm heart, infectious smile and kindness to everyone she met.
Mae was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Samuel “Sam” Shipp; daughter, Pamela “Pam” Gerber; son, Ricky Shipp; brothers, Durwood, Gilbert, Edger and Richard “Rich” Hart; and sisters, Wanda Dean and Nola “Jean” Currence.
She is survived by her daughters, Sandi Ferguson and Debi Shipp; grandchildren, Casey Shrewsbury-Gerber (Maggie), Samantha Ferguson, Tyler Shipp, Michael Ferguson, and Hunter Shipp (Rachel); and great-grandchildren Kinsey, Jordan, Ryker, Zayden, Jaxson and Spencer.
Mae’s greatest joy was her family. Her strength, wit, and unwavering love leave a lasting legacy. Her family finds great comfort in their endless beautiful memories.
A celebration of Mae’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Full Gospel Fellowship, Elkins. A graveside service will follow in Beverly Cemetery.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude for the community’s prayers and support. Mae’s spirit, love, and laughter will remain forever in the hearts of those who loved her.
