Alan Langevin

LANGEVIN

Alan Langevin, 69, a resident of Elkins, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2026, at the WV Caring Hospice Facility in Elkins surrounded by his family.

He was born Nov. 1, 1956, at Falmouth, Massachusetts, a son of the late Barbara Kyle Langevin. On Feb. 2, 1990, in Elkins, he married Cathy Arbogast Langevin, who survives in Elkins.

Also surviving is a son, Kyle Langevin and companion, Courtney Vanpelt, of Elkins; a grandson, Kyson Langevin; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Langevin.

Alan was a graduate of Elkins High School with the class of 1975 where he played basketball and baseball. He was a long-time member of the Parsons Softball League playing alongside his son for 18 years. He enjoyed his time watching his grandson play Little League Baseball and watching the Little League World Series. He loved all sports and was a dedicated WVU sports fan.

For 25 years, Alan was a member of the âchain gangã for Elkins High School Football games. He was a carpenter by trade.

Unfortunately, Alan left us too soon. Alan's request for cremation has been fulfilled. The family will receive friends from 4 until 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 5 p.m. Wednesday from the funeral home chapel. Pastor Cindy Morgan-Roberts officiating.

The family request memorial contributions be made to the Elkins Little League, PO Box 1784, Elkins, WV 26241 in memory of Alan.
