David Frederick Breitmeier

BREITMEIER

David Frederick Breitmeier, 68, of Riverton, West Virginia, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, Virginia.

Born on July 12, 1958, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, the son of the late George William and Evelyn (Reynolds) Breitmeier. On Feb. 16, 2015, David married Codie Nicole (Robertson) Breitmeier, who survives in Riverton.

David's life was defined by his enduring love for family, his knowledge, kindness to those around him, and a steadfast spirit that touched many lives. He was a jack of all trades and applied his special skills in plumbing and building. David also enjoyed playing the guitar in rock bands and story telling. His legacy will continue to inspire all the lives that he has touched.

Davidás passion was the outdoors, where he found joy in hiking, ginsenging and especially fly fishing. He was an accomplished fly fisherman and he owned and operated Elkfisherás where he also served as a fly fishing guide. He was instrumental in the creation of WVAngler and was a member of Trout Unlimited, where he played a huge role in helping others learn from his skill.

David leaves behind to cherish his memory, his beloved wife, Codie Nicole Robertson Breitmeier; two daughters, Misty Mahfouz (Moda) of Wisconsin, and Amy Breitmeier of Summersville, West Virginia; a step-daughter, Jordyn Gibson of Riverton, West Virginia; a step-son, Robert Gibson of Riverton, West Virginia; two brothers, John Breitmeier of Hawaii, and Tom Breitmeier (Lisa) of Parkersburg, West Virginia; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

In honoring Davidás wishes, his body has been cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the donorás choice.
