Delvin James “Jim” Wratchford, 80, a resident of Parsons, West Virginia, departed this life early Tuesday morning, July 14, 2026, at Nella's at Autumn Lake Healthcare at Crystal Springs, Elkins, West Virginia. He had been in declining health.
He was born Wednesday, May 1, 1946, at Parsons, West Virginia, a son of the late Delvin Delmer Wratchford and Gertrude Frances Watring.
Surviving are one daughter, Carrie Wratchford Allender of Kerens; one sister-in-law, Lois Wratchford of Parsons; two grandchildren, Haley Jordan Allender and Wesley Jackson Allender, both of Kerens; and nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death are his brother, Thomas Ray “Tom” Wratchford; son-in-law, Jacky W. Allender; and niece, Tammy Wratchford.
He attended the schools of Tucker County, and had worked for Wratchford's Garage at Parsons, which was owned by his father and as a laborer for various companies and worked in construction.
Jim was dedicated to helping his neighbors at the farm and loved feeding the deer, chickens, guineas, cats and dogs.
Graveside Service will be conducted at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman, West Virginia, on Monday, July 20, 2026, at 11 a.m. The Reverend James Snyder will officiate and interment will follow.
