Gene E. Doyle, 86, of Beverly, West Virginia, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2026.
He was born on Dec. 13, 1939 in Blue Springs, West Virginia. He was the son of the late Jesse and Ada Doyle of Monterville, West Virginia. Gene was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra J. Doyle, who passed away in 2009.
He is survived by two children, Dennis Doyle of Roanoke, West Virginia, and Priscilla Doyle-Suan and husband, William Suan, of Johnstown, West Virginia; one sister, Mary Ann Rodgers and her husband, Larry Rodgers, of Maysville, West Virginia; one granddaughter, Sarah DeWeese and husband, Josh DeWeese; two great-grandchildren he dearly loved, Porter “Gene” DeWeese and Carter “William” DeWeese of Lost Creek; and his loving companion, Carolyn Ellmore.
Gene was also preceded in death by five brothers, Hubert, Delbert, Lloyd, Jack and Junior; and several nieces and nephews.
Gene graduated from Tygart's Valley High School in 1957. He worked for Lab Craft for 17 years. Gene and his closest friend, Jim McWilliams, were business partners in McWilliams Builders and the Beverly Mobile Home Park. Their business partnership spanned over 50 years and continued until Gene's death.
Honesty, kindness, determination and hard work was the key to their success. Gene was very devoted to his family. He enjoyed life and will be remembered as a man of integrity and loved by all who knew him. Gene attended the Crystal Springs Community Church. Gene also enjoyed programs at the Johnstown United Methodist Church where his daughter and granddaughter and great–grandchildren attend.
Friends may call from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday, July 18, 2026, at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Dave Collins officiating. Interment will follow in the Beverly Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Crystal Springs Community Church, P. O. Box 3061, Elkins, WV 26241 or the Johnstown United Methodist Church, 143 Post Farm Road, Lost Creek, WV 26385 in memory of Gene.
