Joseph Blain Carr

CARR

Joseph Blain Carr, 74, a resident of Elkins, passed from this life Monday, July 27, 2026, at his residence. He had been in his usual health and death was unexpected.

Joseph was born on Sunday, June 29, 1952, in Tucker County, a son of the late Forrest Allman and Bessie Carr. On Jan. 15, 1977, in Elkins, he was married to Brenda Kay Phillips Carr, who preceded him in death on Aug. 11, 2017, after 40 years of marriage.

Left to cherish Joseph's memory is his daughter, Sherri Kerr and husband, Adam; his only granddaughter, MaKayla Kerr; his nephew, Brandin Carr; and many friends.

Preceding Joseph in death besides his wife and parents was his brother, Michael Carr.

Joseph attended the schools of Tucker County. He worked as a house parent at the West Virginia Children's Home from which he retired. He enjoyed nature and being outdoors.

He enjoyed riding motorcycles, and he was a passionate nature photographer. He enjoyed taking his granddaughter out to photograph the beauty of West Virginia's nature.

With a big smile and a kind heart, he never met a stranger and took pleasure engaging in conversation with anyone he met.

Visitation will be held at Randolph Funeral Home on Thursday, July 30, 2026, from noon until 2 p.m., the funeral hour. Joseph's request for cremation will follow.

The Randolph Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements for Joseph Blain Carr.
