Lester Keith Arbogast

ARBOGAST

Lester Keith Arbogast, 74, a resident of Valley Head, West Virginia, departed this life Friday morning, July 17, 2026, at Mountain Living Community at Belington, West Virginia, and under the care of Mountain Hospice. He had been in declining health for the past two months.

He was born Tuesday, Nov. 20, 1951, at Elkins, West Virginia, a son of the late Thurman Debbs Arbogast and Leta Virginia Friel Arbogast. On Feb. 24, 1970, at Mill Creek, West Virginia, he was married to the former Sandra Kay Roberts Arbogast, who survives. They celebrated 56 years of marriage.

Also surviving are two sons, Gary Arbogast and companion, Ashley Lindsay, and Greg Arbogast, all of Valley Head; one daughter, Samantha McClain (Tracy) of Valley Head; four grandchildren, Alexis Vandevender and companion, Dylan Ellison, of Valley Head, Tristan Arbogast and companion, Tanner Boatwright, of Norton, Dalton Vandevender (Kaleah) of Mill Creek, and Isabella Arbogast of Valley Head; four great-grandchildren, Aria Ellison, Maverick Ellison, Dawson Vandevender and Teddy Rose Boatwright and one on the way; one sister-in-law, Pat Arbogast; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are four brothers, Hubert, Delmar, Dairel and Roger Arbogast.

He attended the schools of Mill Creek. After school, he worked in Cleveland, Ohio, before returning home. He had worked in the sawmill industry and retired from Snowshoe Mountain Resort, November 2013, as an equipment operator and maintenance shop crew member.

In Lester's free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and being with his family. He will be missed immensely

Services will be private. Interment will follow at the Mingo Cemetery at Mingo, West Virginia.
