It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Linda Kay Ingham, 73, of Elkins, West Virginia, who passed away peacefully on Sunday morning July 19, at United Hospital Center, surrounded by her loving family and amazing care team
Born on June 10, 1953, in Hamlin, West Virginia, Linda was the beloved daughter of James and Myrtle Miller. Linda was known for her generosity, love for her grandbabies and great-grandbaby, spitfire attitude and above all her selflessness. She was affectionately known by many as âNannyã no matter if they were friends or acquaintances as she showed love to anyone around her and considered anyone as good as family.
She found joy in planting flowerbeds, the sunshine, chasing and playing with her grandbabies, and a good cup of coffee with two creams.
Above all, Linda cherished family. She leaves two daughters, Michelle Hedrick and partner, Wes Herron, of Elkins, and Helen Ingham of Philippi, West Virginia; grandchildren, Caleb Waybright of Elkins, West Virginia, Savannah Dobbins and partner, Noah Gilroy, of Valley Bend, West Virginia, and Journey, Braydon, Ryker and Marionna Hedrick, of Elkins, West Virginia. Also left behind to cherish her memory is one great-grandchild, Elliott Dobbins, of Valley Bend, West Virginia; along with brothers and sisters, Ernest âJuniorã Miller, Wanda Faye Hendricks, Doris Filyaw and Debbie Cadle; former husband James Roth of Elkins, West Virginia; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends who will forever treasure her memory.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Michael Jason Roth; siblings, Marie Groves, Pauline McCalister, Joyce Spears, Walter Miller, Billy Miller, Carolyn Caldwell and Denzil Miller. She was also preceded in death by former husband, Larry Ingham, of Elkins, West Virginia.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to United Hospital Center, Dr. Harvey, Dr. Forzano, Dr. Adeniyi and all the other specialty providers and nurses for the compassionate care, heroic efforts to try to save her, and support shown during her final moments.
A Viewing will be held from 3 until 5 p.m., Friday, July 24, 2026, at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins, West Virgini. A funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. Friday from the funeral home chapel with Jay Ketterman officiating. Cremation will follow.
Dinner will follow the service at Tygart Valley Fire Company in Dailey, West Virginia. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Refinery Church in Linda's memory to aid in feeding those who are in need. Linda enjoyed spending days helping serve meals for those in need with the local churches. Therefinerywv.org.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in the love, memories and legacy Linda leaves behind. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
