Minnie Marie Snyder Hoover, 91, a lifelong resident of Valley Head and for the last 2 and half years, a resident of Elkins Rehabilitation and Care Center passed from this life Monday, Aug. 17, 2026, at the nursing home.
Minnie was born on Friday, March 8, 1935, in Mingo, a daughter of the late Walter Snyder and Eva Pritt Snyder. She was married to Jessie Alban Hoover, who preceded her in death.
Left to cherish Minnie's memory are three children, Joan Adkins and Randy Hoover and wife, Debbie, all of Huttonsville, and Vickie Schoonover and husband, Joe, of Dailey; one sister-in-law, Sandy Hoover; one brother, Herman Snyder of Bridgewater, Virginia; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Preceding Minnie in death besides her husband and parents were two children, Joe Hoover and Bobby Hoover; seven siblings, Howard, Ruth, Dorothy, Fannie, Dory, Mary and Florence; and two grandchildren, Bobby Adkins and Jessie Adkins.
Minnie attended the schools of Randolph County and had worked in housekeeping at Snowshoe Resort. She enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. She loved her family and spending time with them. Going to church was something she loved doing as often as the doors were open and she was a member of Markley Chapel.
A special “thank you’ goes out from Minnie's family to the staff of Mountain Village at Elkins Rehabilitation and Care Center.
Visitation will be held at Randolph Funeral Home on Friday, Aug. 21, 2026, from 11a.m. until 1 p.m., the funeral hour. Rev. Billy Young will officiate, and interment will follow in Wilmoth Cemetery at Bartow.
