Alvie Ray Taylor, 74, a resident of Harman, passed from this life Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, at Vandalia Health Davis Medical Center in Elkins.
Alvie was born Friday, April 4, 1952, in Mill Creek, a son of the late Charles Taylor and Vergie Gear Taylor. He was married to his beloved Lydia Susan Credal Taylor, who survives.
Also left to cherish Alvie's memory are four children, Crystal Collar and husband, Pete, of Parsons, Julie Ferguson and husband, Jeff, of Elkins, Margaret McDaniels and husband, Charles, of Hambleton, and James Allen Amie of Buckhannon; three siblings, Roger Taylor of Mill Creek, Leonard Taylor and wife, Debbie, of Beverly, and Wilma Lambert of Mill Creek; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.
Preceding Alvie in death besides his parents was an infant brother.
Alvie attended the schools of Randolph County. He had worked for Coastal Lumber Company as a lumber stacker. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he had attended Shiloh Baptist Church. He loved his family and was a devoted and caring husband, father and grandfather.
Alvie's request for cremation will be honored.
