Mrs. Connie Jane (White) Seech, 78, a resident of the Mt. Liberty Community near Belington, departed this life Sunday morning, Aug. 30, 2026 in the WV Caring Hospice Facility at Elkins, West Virginia. Death was following a period of declining health.
Connie was born April 27, 1948, in New Jersey, a daughter of the late John White Sr. and Martha Lou (Bates) White McIntyre. On April 19, 1975, she was united in marriage to Jeffrey Mark Seech, who survives at their residence in Belington.
In addition to her husband, those left to cherish her memory are three sons, Daniel T. Conklin III and wife Stacie of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Jake Seech and wife, Kim, of Philippi, West Virginia, Jud Seech of Philippi, West Virginia; one sister, Carol Smith of Elkins, West Virginia; and one son-in-law Jeff Dean of Belington, West Virginia.
Also surviving are her grandchildren, Taylor and Sydney Conklin, Bobby and Kayla Dean, Hunter, Laney and Corey Seech; great-grandchildren, Zayla Valentine and Juniper Kimble.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her step-father, Jack McIntyre; one daughter, Kimberly Dawn Conklin Deen; two sisters, Sharon Everhart and Linda Baumgardner. Also preceding her in death are four brothers, Michael White, David White, Homer White and John White; step-brother, Billy McIntyre; grandson, Garret Seech; and great-grandson, Rowan Seech.
Connie attended the Schools of Harrison County and was a graduate of the Bridgeport High School with the class of 1966. Upon graduation she attended Fairmont State College from which she earned her degree in education. She then furthered her education by attending West Virginia University where she obtained her masters degree in special education. Connie then put her years of schooling to work for the Barbour County School System where she taught special education from 1988 until 2008 when she retired. However after retirement she continued to help and serve for ten more years as a substitute teacher in the Barbour County School System.
Connie was a Baptist by faith, she enjoyed reading, camping and making peanut butter fudge and enjoyed helping with the Special Olympics. Most of all she loved being around and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Connie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home 56 N. Brandenburg Street in Belington on Friday, Sept. 4, 2026, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at which time a funeral service will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with Lay Speaker Joseph Kaiser officiating. Per Connie's request cremation will follow the service.
