Pearl Hazel Mallow, 83, a resident of Huttonsville passed from this life on Monday, Aug. 31, 2026, at her home. She had been in her usual health and death was unexpected.
Pearl was born Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1943, in Whitmer, a daughter of the late Covy Edward Mallow and Ethel Maddie Bodkins Mallow.
Left to cherish Pearl's memory are her three children, Debra West and husband, William “Bob,” of Beverly, Pamela Conrad and husband, Henry “Doug,” of Elkins, and Murrill “Phil” Ware and partner, James Cloud, of Clarksburg; three sisters, Pauline Woods of Valley Head, Margaret McKenzie of Dailey, and Mildred “Sis” Colalanni of Melbourne, Florida; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, one great- great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Pearl in death besides her parents was her longtime companion, David “Dave” Lee Kesling; five siblings, Jim Mallow, Thomas Mallow, Gerald Mallow, Frank Mallow and Ruby Channell; one grandchild, seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Pearl attended the schools of Randolph County. She had worked in housekeeping for Canaan Valley, Top of the World at Snowshoe Mountain, and Silver Creek. She also had her own housekeeping business as well as working on home repair projects from the grounds to the roof.
Crocheting, making fine lace doilies, making afghans were some of Pearls many hobbies. She was a very meticulous person in her housekeeping and in her yardwork. Every time she left her home, Pearl made a point of making sure her hair, make-up, and dress was immaculate.
The family's request for cremation will be honored with a private graveside service to follow.
