Dora Leigh Conrad Morgan, 85, a resident of Monterville, passed away Sept. 26, 2026, at Neila’s at Autumn Lakes of Crystal Springs.
She was born Feb. 11, 1941 at Blue Springs, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Arden Lee Conrad and Marie Blanche Conrad Conrad. On Aug. 27, 1960, she was married to William Gail Morgan, who preceded her in death Dec. 22, 2024.
Dora is survived by one son, Jeffrey (Anna) Morgan of Montrose; and one daughter, Anita (Claude) Phillips of Monterville. Also surviving are brothers, Marvin (Burnice) Conrad of Summersville, West Virginia, and Charles (Gail) Conrad of Monterville; grandchildren, Josh (Samantha) Morgan, Andrea (Kelvin) Summerfield, Danielle (Jason) Currence and Debbie (Paul) Brown. She survived by nine great-grandchildren, Hailey, Brantley, Braxton, Bryce, Trevor, Rozalyn, Alec, Madison and Billy; and four great-great-grandchildren, Reid, Bo, Owen and Blair.
Also preceding her in death was her sister, Maxine Conrad Bonner; and her great-granddaughter, MaKenna Summerfield.
Dora retired from Randolph County Schools after 32 years of service. She began that journey teaching in a one-room school at Brady Gate followed by years as an aide, a guidance secretary and school secretary. She was a member of Tyrand Community Chorus, which brought her great joy. She was a long-time member of the Cowger United Methodist Church until it closed, and membership was transferred to the Valley Head Methodist Church. She attended Mountain View Church of the Nazarene.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until noon Friday, Oct. 9, 2026, at the Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins. A funeral service will be held at noon with Pastor Tim Turner officiating. Interment will follow in the Mingo Cemetery.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Tyrand Cooperative Ministries, P.O. Box 365, Mill Creek, WV 26280.
