Randall Benton Tucker II died Sept. 18, 2026, in Atlanta, Georgia.
Born 79 years ago in New York City, he was the son of Randall Benton Tucker and Kathleen K.D. Tucker. After graduating from Putnam City High School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, he earned a bachelor's degree in psychology at Oklahoma City University, where he met Phyllis Paul, and they married in 1971. He went on to complete a master's in psychology at Oklahoma State University. They moved to Randolph County, West Virginia, in 1979. Randy worked as a psychologist at the Davis Center Juvenile Correction Facility in Thomas, West Virginia, and then at Applachian Mental Health in Elkins, West Virginia. He and Phyllis divorced in 1982.
Randy met Sherry Jenkins and they married in 2001, moving to Georgia four years later. Sherry died unexpectedly in 2022.
Randy was preceded in death by both parents. Surviving siblings include Cynthia Lee Shaughnessy, Deborah Ross Schreffler, Melissa Marie Young, Melanie Ann Tucker, Mark Jeremy Tucker and Caitlin Maria Parker, as well as three nieces and one nephew.
At the end of his life, he was helped greatly by his neighbors Tracy Minich and John Schauber. His nine-year-old Great Pyrenees dog was adopted by friends in West Virginia.
Randy was known for his creativity and his sense of humor. Aside from his love of dogs, other interests included silversmithing, games, singing, and playing guitar and fiddle. In his later years, he developed a love of the art of painting.
We are forever grateful for his kindness and adventurous spirit.
