Sherlene Sue Rhea, 85, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family under the care of Mountain Hospice.
She was born on Dec. 14, 1940, in Mingo, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Frank and Mary Rhea. Surviving is one daughter, Susie Arbogast and husband, Randy, of Valley Head, West Virginia. Also surviving are her cherished grandchildren, Stacy Arbogast and husband, Ryan, Tyler Arbogast and wife, Olivia, and Kara Arbogast and companion, Marrisa Jennings. Her great-grandchildren, Lynlee Arbogast, Asher Arbogast, and Daniel Arbogast, who were the apple of her eye.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Moore; and two brothers, Ronnie and Zaron Rhea.
Sherlene attended Randolph County Schools and was a homemaker. She was an excellent cook and baker. She enjoyed reading, especially the Bible. She was a Pentecostal by Faith and loved to spread the word to all that would listen.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until noon Friday, Oct. 2, 2026, at the Tomblyn Funeral Home, Elkins, West Virginia. A funeral service will be held at noon Oct 2, 2026, from the funeral home chapel with Brother Daniel Rider, officiating. Interment will follow at the Mingo Cemetery in Mingo, West Virginia. .
