Virginia Marie 'Ginny' Howell
Virginia Marie "Ginny" Howell, 90, a resident of Elkins, passed away Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026, in the Davis Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 25, 1935, at Huttonsville, a daughter of the late Samuel W. Swecker and the late Lura Simmons Swecker.
On Nov.10, 1956, in Elkins, she married Stewart C. "Bob" Howell, who survives in Elkins.
Also surviving are two sons, Michael E. Howell, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and Gregory S. Howell and wife, Lisa, of Belington; one daughter, Kristie L. Stalnaker of Elkins; one brother, Bobby Lee Swecker of Junior, West Virginia; a sister, Betty Jean Neff of Evans, Georgia; grandchildren, Samantha Watkins and husband, Derek; and great-grandchild, Chase and Kylie Howell and fiance Kyle Whetzel; and great-grandchild, Lillian.
Also preceding her in death were three brothers, Junior, Jackie and Michael Gene Swecker; and two sisters, Wanna Mae Simmons and Mary Lou Pingley.
A self-employed Child Care Provider, Mrs. Howell will be remembered for her love of family, her kind heart and the many lives she touched.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., Friday, Oct. 16, 2026, at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Roy Schneider officiating.
Interment will follow in the Elkins Memorial Gardens on the Country Club Road.
