Justin Allen Wortham, a beloved father, son, brother, partner, and friend, passed away on Aug. 5, 2024, in Dothan, Alabama, at the age of 39, from traumatic brain injuries sustained in a car accident. Born on May 04, 1985, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Debra and Glenn Carey, and the late Sherwin Wortham. She was born Wednesday, Jan. 7, 1931, in Cottageville, West Virginia, to the late Orville Thomas (Peck) Stover and Focie Jackson Herdman Stover. On July 9, 1949, at Ripley, West Virginia, she was married to the late Edward Ernest Plumley, who preceded her in death June 26, 1998. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family. Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. until noon Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2024, at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. Gary Allen Maxfield, 78, a resident of Elkins, passed away Friday, Aug. 23, 2024, at the West Virginia Caring Hospice Inpatient Unit in Elkins. He was born March 6, 1946, a son of the late Will and Lois Helmet. On May 20, 2006, at Elkins, he was married to Barbara Ann Roy, who survives. Following graduation from high school, Gary had worked as a cook for the Federal Service Bank in North Carolina prior to becoming disabled. Gary’s wish for cremation will be honored.
