Gary Allen Maxfield, 78, a resident of Elkins, passed away Friday, Aug. 23, 2024, at the West Virginia Caring Hospice Inpatient Unit in Elkins. He was born March 6, 1946, a son of the late Will and Lois Helmet. On May 20, 2006, at Elkins, he was married to Barbara Ann Roy, who survives. Following graduation from high school, Gary had worked as a cook for the Federal Service Bank in North Carolina prior to becoming disabled. Gary’s wish for cremation will be honored.
