Jesse Carol “Cakie” Markley, 86, a resident of Elkins, passed from this life on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Mountain Living Community in Belington under the care of Mountain Hospice. Jesse was born Wednesday, Sept. 15, 1937, in Mill Creek, a son of the late William Jack Markley and Kathleen Parrack Markley. On July 22, 1961, in Elkins, he married Carra Bell Higgins Markley, who preceded him in death on Jan. 12, 2016. They had celebrated 54 years of marriage.
