The city of Belington is looking for people/businesses to adopt a flower barrel for the summer. These barrels line the sidewalks in town and are always very pretty. To adopt a barrel, send a message to the Golden Rule facebook page and let's make Belington beautiful this summer!
Mikey Hart Memorial Fund is having a chicken burn and corn hole tournament on June 1 at the Barbour County Quick Care parking lot in Belington. The tournament fun begins at 11 a.m., so come on out and enjoy the food and activities.
There will be a Summer Kick-off Pool Party on June 1 from 6-8 pm at the Philippi City Pool. Free admission, food, and ice cream from Calvin's Kool Treats. Come on out and join the summer fun!
Miss Rodeo of Barbour County pageant will be held on June 2 at the auditorium at Battler's Knob at 3 p.m. This is for girls up to 14 years of age. Come on out and see who will be the very first Rodeo Queen of Barbour County!
Faith Way Baptist Church will be hosting Vacation Bible School at Camp Popeye, June 3-7 from 6-8 pm. Bring the kids out to learn all about how God's love is "Out of this world"!
Belington will be having their city wide yard sale on June 8. There will be yard sales throughout town, so plan on spending the day to go treasure hunting.
Strutters Baton and Dance Team will be holding a Variety Bingo on June 8 at the Belington Fire Department Hall. Doors open at 11:30 a.m, with early bird starting at 12:30. Regular games will begin at 1 p.m. Cost will be $20 for 20 games, with extra packets and games available as well. For tickets or more information, call Tiffany at 304-614-6614.
Also on June 8, Barbour County Youth Baseball will be having their first ever closing day event at the Barbour County ball fields in Philippi. Games will begin at noon, so come out and see the crafts and vendors and have a good day on the ball field. All teams have done an excellent job this year.
Blue and Gray Reunion will be having their 35th annual Car Show on June 9 at the court house square in Philippi. Registration begins at 10 a.m. Awards will begin at 3 pm. Registration fee will be $10 and will benefit the Philippi Volunteer Fire Department. For more information, contact Jed Schola at 304-677-0196.
Barbour County Fair Association and Buckin' B Cattle Company have partnered together once again to bring Professional Bull Riding to Barbour County Fairgrounds. Friday, June 14, the gates will open at 4 pm, with events starting at 7 p.m. On Saturday, June 15, the gates open at 2 pm, with events starting at 5 p.m. Tickets will be $20 at the gate, with ages 5 and under free. Food vendors will be on site. For advance tickets, or more information, call the fair office at 304-823-1328.
