Congratulations to the Barbour All Stars Little League Team, as they traveled to states recently. What an accomplishment and talent. You have made your hometown proud!

Every Tuesday at Belington Civic Center, there is an Open Table Dinner Church at 6 pm. Dinner is followed by a short story about Jesus. Staying for the story is not mandatory, but you are invited to join them for the story and the meal. Children are welcome!
There will be a "Bounce Back To School" event at Battler's Knob on July 29 from 5-7 p.m. Kids are invited for free activities, school supplies, bouncy house, rock climbing wall and more.
Camp Mindful Warriors will take place July 29 - Aug. 2 at the Belington City Park. This resiliency summer camp is staffed by mental health specialists and counselors. It will take place from 9 a.m. – noon for children ages 5-12, and from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. for ages 13-18. For more information, call 304-623-5666 ext. 181257.
Appalachian Thunder will be hosting a Youth Football Camp on Aug. 2 at Battler's Knob. Drop off is at 4:30 p.m., with camp from 5-8 p.m.
The annual Tacy Fair will take place on Aug. 3 beginning at 11 a.m. Come on out to the Tacy Community Building for games, food, music and more.
Kids cornhole tournament starts at 1 p.m. It sure sounds like it will be a day of fun.
Lurch Fest will take place in Philippi on Aug. 3 from noon until dark. Come out and meet Lurch's son, Sean Cassidy and spend the day enjoying all the sights, sounds and food in Philippi.
Belington Town Square will be having an Open Jam music night on Aug. 3. Sing it out!
Belington Volunteer Fire Department is preparing for their annual Fall Gun and Cash Bash. This will take place on Sept. 14, but the Early Bird tickets go on sale on Aug. 3, from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. at the Belington Fire Department.' Tickets can also be purchased by calling 3041-823-1234, or online at belingtonfire.com
The Junior Fire Department's 12th annual Ride 2 Dive will take place on Aug. 4. Registration is from 8 – 10 a.m. The cost per person will include a full BBQ chicken dinner and a chance to win some nice door prizes.
Different raffles will take place and t-shirts will be available to purchase. Come out for a fun day and support a great cause.
There will be a Beginner Twirling Class at the Belington Civic Center on Aug. 5 from 6-8 p.m. for ages 3-15. There will be a cost per child. Anyone under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Come out and learn the basics of baton twirling!
Food distribution will take place at Philippi Middle School on Aug. 7 from 11 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. for children under the ages of 18. Come out and grab a nutritious meal to help ensure that our children stay healthy this summer.
There will be a Basketball Camp Aug. 6-8, from 5-8 p.m. at the Philip Barbour gym. Barbour County's own David Shriver will be hosting this opportunity for boys and girls in 3rd – 8th grade to learn some basketball skills. Registration will begin at 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 6, and the first 25 to register will receive a free t-shirt. There will be a cost for the camp.
It's time to start thinking about going back to school. Philip Barbour will be having schedule pick ups and locker sign ups on Aug. 9 from 9 a.m. – noon and 1- 3 p.m. There will be a locker cost.
Battler's Knob is looking for vendors! There will be a Flea Market on Aug. 17 and space rentals will be available for a cost. For space rentals or more information, contact Cherri at 304-613-7180.
Tickets are now on sale for the 2024 Barbour County Fair. Advance tickets can be purchased at the Fair office, any Freedom Bank location, any Mace's Pharmacy location, BC Bank and People's Bank in Philippi.
