Time for us to be more thankful in Barbour County

Hello from Barbour County!

Life has been busy lately and I’ve missed an article or so, but I’m hoping to be back on track now.

It’s hard to believe that this year is almost over!

There will be a winter craft show today, Saturday, Nov. 22 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Battlers Knob in Philippi. Stop by and see what kind of holiday gifts you can find for someone special.

Also tonight, from 6:30-8 p.m., 17 North Event Center will be hosting Christmas carols by Gathered Voices. This is a free event for the whole family.

Come on out, sing along, play trivia games, win prizes and have fun.

Bring your favorite Christmas cookie for a cookie exchange. There will also be hot chocolate and mulled cider. This sounds like a nice evening!

Deer season begins next week. Everyone please be safe and may you bring home “the big one.”

There will not be school in Barbour County from Nov. 24-28. Enjoy your family this holiday season.

The 42nd annual Christmas Craft Show will take place at the Randolph County National Guard Armory on Caisson Drive off Rt. 33 on Saturday, Nov. 29 from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 30 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. They will have arts and crafts from over 50 vendors as well as food, treats and kettle corn. This is always an awesome exhibit.

There will be a Sports and Gaming Card Show at Battlers Knob on Dec. 6 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. There will be free admission and you can come out to buy, sell, or trade cards. If you would like to set up a table, there will be a cost. For more information, contact 304-688-6077.

On Dec. 13, Belington Elementary School will be having a Christmas craft show from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. There will be crafts and vendors, a gift card raffle, chorus presentation, concessions, coronation and more. For more information, call 304-319-0255.

For over 30 years, the Asbury UMC has been hosting their Annual Community Christmas Cantata with singers from several local churches. This year it will be entitled “Christmas around the World.” Join them on Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. All are most welcome! Refreshments will follow.

Barbour County Strutters will be having their Christmas recital on Dec. 19 at the Funkhouser Auditorium at Battlers Knob. The doors open at 6 p.m., with the show starting at 7 p.m. A donation will get you in the door. Fox Anna drinks will be available.

If you have any Barbour County news that you would like to see in The Inter Mountain, give me a call at 304-614-7782. I love hearing from you.
