Chuck Schumer is right, and James Carville is right. They don’t want the Democratic Party getting pulled into MAGA’s cyclone of ruinous policy. To get to safety, they are reining in the left flank for whom the fight is all. The hotheads don’t recognize that bad timing loses battles. Contrary to what some supporters of President Donald Trump claim and the President himself asserts, tariffs are not paid by foreign governments, but by the American people. Importers pay taxes on each part or whole product imported into the country. They then raise the price of goods to recoup the American people’s cost. Five years ago on Friday, March 13, 2020 Gov. Jim Justice announced a state of emergency, and all public places closed down. Private businesses were able to reopen sooner, but the public schools opened slowly because of concern for the health and safety of children. Randolph Co.
