On March 12 years ago, several churches met and made the decision to serve a free meal each Saturday. Meals would be served at Woodford Memorial United Methodist Church, 113 First Street, Elkins.
The name Common Ground was chosen. Each church serving would bring their own supplies and use Woodford's kitchen. At one time there were 14 churches participating.
Recently we have had five churches that had to quit serving for a while due to COVID. At present all meals are take-out, either a hot or cold lunch.
It would be a great help if a church or organization that has not served would be interested in taking part in this important service. Please call 304-657-0359 for more information.
