To Robert Ware, your recent letter to the Editor's Page of the Oct. 16 edition of The Inter-Mountain left me rather concerned.
I read it three times to make sure that I got the gist of it and each time left me feeling the same: This wasn't good.
The letter in question: You claimed to be a supporter of the LGBTQ community, thought they were great and loved how they show pride and all that.
But you also expressed that it was equally important for people, with the recent protest of those high school students as an example, to peacefully assemble and express their opposition to the LGBTQ community.
That, to say the least, was bad ally-ship. You can't call yourself a supporter of both -- it has to be one or the other.
If you and others don't understand that, then consider it like this: It would be as if you said, "I support Jews, the way they worship and their life choices, BUT I also support a Nazi's right to peacefully assemble with other Nazis to proclaim their opposition to Jews with the chant, 'Jews will not replace us!'"
Do you see what I'm saying?
If I completely misread what you meant, then my apology, but you may want to clarify that.
If I'm not wrong then my only critique is that you work on being a better ally.
