Why aren’t citizens getting vaccinated?

People are still wondering why the citizens of our state and nearly a dozen others are not getting vaccinated. Well, it’s a couple things.

Consider the fact that most are conservatives who don’t trust anything they hear coming out of Washington (there’s merit in that) and many liberals who are growing wary of the power-wielding bureaucrats who demand we do this or that or don’t do this or that or don’t do anything till we tell you what to do, then do that.

I don’t know what name you call it, but it translates to eventual total government control. Just ask the credible conspiracy theorists.

We have some good Republicans in Washington but not enough to stave off a power grab if it comes. They are on the verge of taking election control away from the states and we’re powerless.

The other reason is the negativism on social media, like texting and Facebook. Too many people grow (inflate) information before they pass it on and too many who read it accept it as truth.

Do as my house does: stay off social media and check everything you hear. Then re-check it.

I want to cover one other thing. I know this newspaper is a fan of Senator Manchin, at times anyway; the Monday op-ed this week indicates that. What some of you may not know is the Joe Manchin from the $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill.

The senator was adamant in his disapproval of the “pork” and other items in that bill having nothing to do with infrastructure. Biden was scared of him and called him in. When I say Biden I really mean the people who are running the White House.

Guess what? They called him in again on this big bill. Now they’ll call him back in and they’ll get him. I think he loves the attention and the way people think he’s playing tough. Personally, I see a thin veil. Tsk. Tsk. Tsk.

God save us.
