Recycling event deemed a success
And another successful weekend of recycling thanks to you. The Randolph County Solid Waste Authority held their tire recycling on the Beverly Five-lane.
The event started at 8 that morning, but the recyclers were lined up at 7:30 a.m. At 4 p.m., the end of the event, a total of 4,790 tires were collected — six tractor trailers loads.
According to one of the coordinators REAP, Randolph County surpassed Monongalia County in tires collected. Hard to believe.
Some folks I would like to thank for making this event a big success. The first folks I would like to thank are the owner, Roger Roy, and general manager Tim Senic of Roy’s RV Supercenter for the use of their lot on the Five-lane. Without it, this couldn’t have taken place.
To Aaron Miller of the West Virginia DEP-REAP, for getting the event lined up. That man’s responsibilities go from Randolph to Berkeley counties.
To Allen and Gary Lambka of Dorothy Lambka LLC for their hired hands that toted that barge and lifted that bail. For Tomar Trucking, Inc. out of Mt. Storm for the transporting of tires.
And finally, to the folks of Randolph County. Thanks for helping keep our county and state clean. We’ll see you next spring.
Clark Martin, chairman
Randolph County Solid Waste Authority
