Dear Mr. President,
On a recent newscast, I walked away from my TV sick to my stomach after listening to a speech you gave.
I saw where your Health and Human Services were going to allocate $30 million to dole out clean smoking materials to drug addicts (crack pipes, maybe?). This was to make drug use safer and to advance racial equity. How do you make smoking crack safer? Anyway, I'm sure the parents who are trying to get their son or daughter off meth will be glad to hear this. "And honey, make sure you use a clean pipe this evening... have fun!"
You're concerned about the gun problem, aren't you? Mr. President, you could have solved the gun problem by eliminating the riots through arrests and jail time. You see? No reason to buy a gun.
Mr. President, a few weeks ago you were looking to give $308 million to the Afghans and $450,000 per illegal immigrant to immigrants crossing the border. Sir, there's an old proverb that says, "Charity begins at home." We have a homeless population, along with homeless vets that defended our county.
Remember, there are those still out of work due to the COVID and never got their jobs back due to their employer's business was affected and other extenuating circumstances. Remember the pipeline workers that were laid off a year ago. That had a snowball affect, right downhill and hit the consumer. High gas prices.
Mr. President, the last year, goods and services went up. Mr. President, your wife's Coach purse now costs $10 to $15 more. The ATV that Hunter bought went up $2,200.
Mr. President, a simple bottle of cough syrup went up a buck today. It went up just enough that someone is standing in the isle of a local supermarket deciding which item in the cart they need to sacrifice so that they can afford the cough syrup for their child or grandparent.
I hate to break this to you, Mr. President, but you're not the average Joe you paint yourself to be.
You've never ran a restaurant, never had to make payroll. You've never received a layoff notice from your employer or made a house payment or rent.
You and Congress have some corrections to make...NOW! If not, you have some tough sledding ahead. A poor man has a long memory.
Mr. President, you and Congress need to get a spine. If you don't, take mine. It's not very big but it works.
