Reader asks BOE candidates questions

Since I was unable to attend this April 25 meeting to meet the candidates for the Tucker County Board of Education, I am putting these questions out to all the candidates.

If you know or are friends on social media with any of the candidates, please feel free to share this with them.

My questions to them are the following:

1. Are you for or against parents and grandparents having a say in the child’s education, or is it only the governing body’s decision? And your reasoning for your response.

2. Are you for or against transgender education and transgender bathroom facilities in schools? And your reasoning for your response.

3. Are you for or against sex education and gender questioning for Grades K through 3 or any other age group? And your reasoning for your response.

4. Are you for or against classroom instruction of critical race theory, better known as CRT, to any grade level? And your reasoning for your response.

5. Are you for or against teaching the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution as it is written? And your reasoning for your response.

6. Are you for or against instructing children of any other age group about getting abortions? And your reasoning for your response.

Please fill free to copy and paste this in any county or state that you live in. We the people have a right to ask these questions to any candidate running for public office, whether or not the office is party affiliated or not.

Very respectfully,

Richard L. Lemons
