Free thinking and speech are threatened today by a group with a sweet-sounding name that conceals a nefarious purpose. That group is called the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC).
For too long now respectable newspapers and other news outlets have lent credibility and aid to one of the most dishonest and unprincipled "civil rights" organizations in America.
Under the guise of identifying and fighting "extremist hate groups," the SPLC has actually become one. And a rich one at that.
"You might imagine the SPLC as a handful of scrappy lawyers in a dingy office suite somewhere," an article in Politico Magazine states. "In fact, it boasts 250 staffers and offices in four states, and its headquarters is testament to the fact that, in America, even fighting racism can be very good business." According to their web site, over a half billion dollars in assets.

Originally founded as a civil-rights law firm in 1971, SPLC reinvented itself in the mid-'80s as a political attack group.
Every year now it produces a new list of people and charities it claims are "extremists" and "haters."
SPLC's hate list has become a weapon for taking individuals and groups they disagree with and tarring them with ugly associations.
SPLC finds a handful of crazies with barely any followers, no address, and no staff, and blows them up into a dangerous movement. Poof, neo-Nazis are lurking under every rock in West Virginia. SPLC has on their notorious "Hate Map" a list of over 700 hate groups in America! Most of which no one has even heard of. SPLC undermines legitimate political voices that they oppose by associating them with extremists like the KKK.
SPLC's "hate map" has listed the American College of Pediatricians for its stance on LGBTQ.
Ayaan Hirsi Ali, an eloquent spokesperson for the rights of Muslim women, is, to the SPLC, a "toxic anti-Muslim extremist."
Scores of other individuals and charities active in mainstream conservative or religious causes have likewise been branded by the SPLC as threats to society.
However, you will not find on their "hate map" the violent left-wing extremist group Antifa. Nor will you find BLM.
So, the next time you see the SPLC quoted in the news, just remember: the masterminds behind the SPLC aren't eliminating hate. They are fueling it rather than identifying and fighting "extremist hate groups," and have actually become one. And a rich one at that.
