On behalf of the Randolph County Democratic Executive Committee and the Randolph County Democratic Women, I'd like to express sincere appreciation to our candidates who ran in the Nov. 8 election.
Barry Wendell, Robert Sheets, Delegate Cody Thompson and Bob Jones conducted themselves with the upmost decorum and grace. Running for office is especially daunting in these polarized political times, but their courage and fortitude are a testament to their character.
It is my hope that our recently elected representatives remember that their responsibility is to listen to all their constituents, whether they received their vote or not.
Only by working together and gathering the best ideas from all points of view can we advance the best opportunities and resources to meet the needs of West Virginia citizens.
