It was an evening to remember! Music, friends and exciting raffle items to bid on in-between musician sets.
The Darden Fest Concert that happened last Saturday was organized by Josh Wanstreet and all the proceeds were given to the Friends of the Elkins-Randolph County Public Library (Elkins Bookhounds) for use in the expansion and renovation of the old Elkins Library
Our beloved community library was severely damaged by roof leaks in late 2021. The sold-out concert was sponsored by the Appalachian Forest National Heritage Area, AmeriCorps West Virginia Members, and the Elkins Bookhounds.
Many of the musicians were affiliated with the Augusta Heritage Center. The fabulous musicians were Jesse Milnes, Val Mindel and Mike Miller, Doug Van Gundy, Gerry Milnes, Chris Lovejoy, and Josh Wanstreet.
If you were one of the fortunate folks to be in the audience, you enjoyed a wonderful gathering of some of the best musicians in the area.
The Elkins Bookhounds were overjoyed and so grateful to be a part of the evening. It was great to see all of the community support for the Elkins Library.
The evening resulted in more than $1,000 for the library construction.
Thank you, Josh, and thank you also to the AmeriCorps volunteers and to the Forest National Heritage folks. Your love for the Elkins Community has touched the lives of many and we are grateful.
