So Elias Coop-Gonzalez wants to see the Ten Commandments "put back" in every classroom. (Were they ever there in the first place?) For someone who loves to bang on (and on, and on) about his love of the Constitution, he might want to try reading it sometime. Or just start with the First Amendment: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion."
If The Inter-Mountain is going to give front-page treatment to the uninformed ramblings of someone who sits on the Legislature's Energy and Manufacturing Committee, it could help readers by pointing out that his views on wind power have no discernible connection to reality. Windmills "blow the tops off our mountains"? Actually, that's coal mining. They "chop all of our birds to death"? Not anywhere close. "By default they are not renewable"? Huh?
Congratulations to the Republicans in Charleston who gerrymandered Cody Thompson out of his seat and gave us Coop-Gonzalez. I'm sure they're pleased with their work.
