Attention readers, especially Randolph Countians. The lies, deceit and propaganda that has infected and destroyed all the trust and credibility in our national leadership has spread to our local communities and supplanted itself in the local Randolph County Democratic Executive Committee. Don't believe me? Read the letter to the editor in the June 15 edition of The Inter-Mountain submitted by Cindy Stemple, chair of the committee.
In the first paragraph Stemple wastes no ink in blaming the Republican Party for everything wrong in this nation. She moves on to subtle hints that accuse them of wanting to rip up the Constitution and create an authoritarianism government that would be run by a handpicked Supreme Council comprised of -- who else -- faux Republicans. Poppycock!
Does anyone really think Trump can snap his fingers and the Congress will kowtow to him? Can he really change the U.S. Constitution by uttering a few words and issuing a proclamation or an executive order? Does Ms. Stemple believe that? Her style of writing indicates as much.
Joe Biden bragged that he was going to cancel student debt regardless of SCOTUS shooting his policies down time after time. He actually has tried close to a half dozen avenues but was stopped before it got much momentum.
Trump had a plan for the border that was showing positive signs and had slashed border crossings to unprecedented lows, then Biden's handlers told him those policies had to go so he sat down and with his pen negated everything Trump had accomplished, then had the nerve this spring -- election year -- to say that the border was how it is because his hands are tied and Congress won't give him any money or support.
I heard Hoppy Kercheval interviewing Wheeling Mayor Glenn Elliot and the mayor repeated the same lie and Hoppy sat there and let him do it. Sheesh!
Hoppy knows better, Elliot knows better, everybody knows better, but remember Hoppy is a Democrat. I was happy to hear Trump ask Congress to not help Biden out. He deserved it.
Who told China and South Korea if they didn't revamp their trade practices they were going to face huge tariffs on merchandise to the U.S.? Who told Mexico they would have to patrol the border or face increased tariffs? Who built several hundred miles of border wall but couldn't finish because appropriation was bogged down? Who brought gas prices down to a level not seen in many years? The one-word answer is Trump. Now who, at the urging of his backers destroyed it all? The one-word answer is Biden.
West Virginia will not vote for Biden. Ms. Stemple's letter is in vain. But it does show what the party is desperately urging every county in the nation to do to get Biden re-elected.
God save us. No Democrat will. Ever.
