Politicians who love jagged-edge partisanship and will not lower the temperature of today's violent discourse do not understand the Constitution, are unfamiliar with the spirit of God, do not truly have the interests of their own children and grandchildren in mind, and are the biggest part of the political problem in America.
Rabid partisanship was called "faction" by our nation's founders, who deeply abhorred it. Faction is as big a threat to the American people as Russia or China or a porous Southern border, or COVID or bird flu.
Our handsome and argumentative party leaders get more money and power only by delivering ever more aggressive discourses. They have led us into the ditch, and in 2024 propose to lead us the rest of the way down to hell.
An interesting comment was made by CBS analyst Major Garrett during coverage of the Trump assassination attempt. He suggested that those politicians who use aggressive rhetoric apologize to the nation.

The Bible society of ancient Israel had an annual Day of Atonement where national political and religious leaders humbled themselves and repented. Not going to happen in rabid Christian America today, folks. Our leaders are as reckless as they are greedy.
