Well, readers, once again the propaganda hate machine in Washington has reached westward into Randolph County and made its way into The Inter-Mountain in a letter to the editor on Feb. 22 and presented again by Cindy Stemple.

She didn’t claim any personal connection to the functions of the Democratic Executive Committee in this latest letter but that doesn’t matter.  It’s the same person, Chairwoman or not.

I strongly suspect, as I did last year, that there are truckloads of emails originating in Washington going out urging hundreds of Democratic bodies to trash Trump and his policies.  They do no good after an election and if some people do get a letter published it’s probably dismissed because the election is over and the new sheriff and his deputies are rounding up the offending suspects.

Of course it’s not just rank and file employees getting fired, some supervisors get it too. The best part is that there are millions of dollars saved and potential billions intercepted that were slated to be spent in the future. Intercepting these payments was also a topic in the letter. Ms. Stemple mentioned that Nixon tried it once and SCOTUS ordered him to cease.

To her credit, Ms. Stemple could not have known last week that the Supreme Court would rule this week on the practice of presidents withholding allocated monies. They ruled in Trump’s favor but cautioned him to watch the thin line he was on.

I must mention the accusations that Musk is not an elected official and is breaking the law by firing people and closing agencies. Poppycock! Don’t check it out if you don’t want to but Trump’s signature is on all the paper work that lays people off and fires others and closes agencies. Elon Musk confers with Trump on all of them and it’s the President’s decision to take action. How could anyone not know that?  

Please go to your search engine and type “White House says Musk lacks authority to fire anyone.” You’ll have several websites to choose from, some of them from reputable outlets. Look at several but pay attention to who authored it.

God help us. Chuck, Nancy and Hakeem don’t have a clue.
