Should we all just let ‘the Man’ do his job?

3 min read

How many more times must it come down to this? Once again I find myself defending the mostly correct right and exposing the willing and atrociously misguided left. As a certain presidential candidate famously said on July 13, 2024, in an historic shout: Fight! Fight! Fight! Ladies and gentlemen, the fight must go on.

I implore you readers to pull up the letter submitted by Robert Ware on May 3. He says in a nutshell what needs to be said. Fact check him too if you want. Take as much time as you need.

Now, move on to May 10 to the submission by Deborah Stiles. Be sure you have a big box of tissues if you are a Democrat. You are fortunate to have an advocate such as Ms. Stiles who has the dope on the Republican conspiracies that are designed to completely destroy America and only the mighty Democratic Party can save it. Except they can't.

Ms. Stiles sings the praises of Cindy Stemple. There's something missing. In neither writer's offerings are there any serious proposed solutions to America's problems, real or imagined. Republicans bad, Trump bad, conservatism bad is the bottom line of their rants, even if not written. There are times I suspect people are being fed suggested material to use in opinion pieces.

I was berated for suggesting that we leave Trump alone and watch how he fixes the trade tariffs. Look what's happening. OMG! They're negotiating trade deals and have been for days. I haven't heard a discouraging word in nearly two weeks.

What about the Big Beautiful Bill? No tax on tips and overtime and several other tax breaks until at least through 2028. The Biden mandated $5,000 handout for EV buyers is gone. Medicare, SNAP and related programs will indeed be revamped but no one who truly qualifies is going to die of starvation or lack of medical care. Biden expanded many benefits during COVID and people do not want to give them up.

As far back as I can remember there have been verbal battles over tax breaks and who gets them. I don't care. This country was fighting over taxes before it was a certified country. Rebellions were common in the early days and they drank a lot of tea and licked a lot of stamps while protesting. Somehow, the USA survived all those tax cuts for the rich and became the most powerful country in the world. There are many people in Tucker County who survived so-called high taxes and have managed to buy new cars and trucks or Harleys and side by sides and other expensive toys nearly every year. Some don't pay any taxes at all and can still buy those things. Is this a great country or what?

This nation will live longer than anyone alive today in the county or the country, and all you need to do is let the Man do his job. Is that so hard?

God save us and always keep the Democrats where you can see them.
