Donald Trump's name will not appear on our ballots come this November, but he asks that we pretend that it does and cast our votes for those Republican government officials who have loyally supported and enabled him and his policies over the past two years.
I hope that we will all think carefully about that as we decide how to cast our votes in the upcoming election. If we are happy with gasoline at $5 a gallon, unaffordable groceries, expensive and inadequate healthcare, failing schools, a costly and illegal war, graft and corruption on a scale never before imagined, protection of the friends of Jeffrey Epstein, measles epidemics, and tax breaks for billionaires, then we should definitely vote to return our incumbents to office.
If on the other hand we want to again see government policies and actions that benefit ordinary Americans like ourselves, and if we want elected officials that actually honor their oath of office and defend the Constitution of the United States, we should then consider voting for some new faces.
