Medicaid, SNAP a focus of proposed bill

As a constituent and a concerned citizen of the state of West Virginia I am highly concerned about the proposed cuts to Medicaid and SNAP in the Budget Reconciliation bill that was sent to you by the House of Representatives. Please read and respond. I am a retired teacher and have first-hand experience of the plight of so many of our young students, especially those with disabilities and in foster care. Who will uphold the Constitution?

The late Robert C. Byrd of West Virginia, who served for many years in the U.S. Senate, always carried a copy of the Constitution in his jacket pocket. Fellow senators knew he would find the appropriate section to remind (sometimes rebuke) anyone who proposed legislation in violation of the country’s most sacred legal document.
