Reader against mayor holding another office

A recent article in The Inter-Mountain spoke of Elkins City Council looking to possibly change the charter of the City to allow Mayor Jerry Marco to possibly hold another office. This concerns me and I think it should concern the people of Elkins, and of Randolph County, if the position is county related. The government of this country was designed to be about checks and balances. I was encouraged to read about Elias Coop- Gonzalez efforts to return the 10 Commandments to our Schools. So Elias Coop-Gonzalez wants to see the Ten Commandments “put back” in every classroom. (Were they ever there in the first place?) For someone who loves to bang on (and on, and on) about his love of the Constitution, he might want to try reading it sometime. Local residents praised for help

A few days ago our 80-year-old husband/father, Erwin, left our eastern Pennsylvania home with the idea he would drive to Kansas City. He has been diagnosed with cognitive impairment and left before dawn without telling us. He made it across Pennsylvania then spent the rest of the day wandering around northeast Ohio. How will the U.S. afford to help Israel?

With the war in Ukraine still ongoing, I wonder where we will get the money to help out our longtime allies in Israel. We did not have the roughly $200 billion we gave Ukraine. That money was borrowed from foreign banks and adds onto our national debt. I’m writing in support of the recent article regarding substance use in our community. First, I think it’s important to acknowledge that the opioid crisis is a real crisis. It’s so much more than a bunch of people addicted to drugs. The impact it has on entire families, children, school systems, the penal system, employers, the medical field and social services is devastating and costly.
