MILL CREEK -- Tygarts Valley remained 10th in this week's SSAC football ratings released on Tuesday afternoon.
The Bulldogs (6-2) halted a two-game skid with a win at Trinity last Friday night. They will host Pocahontas County this Friday for a key contest and remain home on Nov. 8 to face Doddridge County, which is second this week in Class A.
Pendleton County, coming off a 7-6 win over No. 13 East Hardy, regained the top spot in Class A.
The Wildcats travel to No. 14 Moorefield this week for a PVC tilt.
Williamstown, Ritchie County and Midland Trail round out the top five in single-A.
The top five in Class AAA remained the same this week with three-time state champion Martinsburg still atop of the ratings.
Cabell Midland is second, followed by Parkersburg South, Musselman and Spring Valley.
Defending state champion Fairmont Senior is No. 1 in double-A for the fifth straight week and will entertain Elkins Friday night at East-West Stadium.
Bridgeport, after knocking off No. 5 Keyser, jumped from fourth to second, Poca is third and Frankfort fourth.
Big 10 update
Along with Fairmont Senior and Bridgeport, a total of five Big 10 Conference teams would be in the playoffs if the season concluded today.
Liberty and North Marion are 10th and 11th, respectively, in Class AA, while Preston is tied with John Marshall for 15th in triple-A.
The Knights (3-5) will travel to Buckhannon-Upshur on Friday night.
