PHILIPPI -- Luke Kellar connected on three touchdown passes to teammate Konnor Maloney as Hillsdale College rolled to a 57-21 win over Alderson Broaddus Saturday afternoon in Great Midwest Athletic Conference action at Multi-Sports Performance Stadium.
Kellar completed 9 of 19 passes for 192 yards as the Chargers (6-3, 4-1 G-MAC) stormed out to a 28-7 lead at the half and never looked back.
Two of Kellar's scoring strikes to Maloney, who finished with three catches for 123 yards, came through the first two quarters of play. The third and final hook up for the duo occurred with 8:34 remaining in the third quarter and pushed the deficit to 42-7.
David Graham had a big day running the ball for Hillsdale, finishing with 132 yards and two scores on 15 carries. Ty Cox also got in on the passing game for the Chargers, completing 5 of 7 passes for 44 yards and two touchdowns.
Quarterback Joe Czelusniak put up solid numbers for the Battlers (0-8, 0-5) but was plagued by a pair of interceptions. The senior signal caller completed 17 of 32 passes for 279 yards and two touchdowns. His scoring strikes were to Zack Lake, a 41-yard score, and Dominic Pegley, a 91-yard touchdown. Lake hauled in eight receptions for 123 yards.
Nicolas Bishop led the Alderson Broaddus' rushing attack with 59 yards on 11 attempts. Job Whalen followed with 30 yards, while Jamil Collison-Cofie had 29 yards and a touchdown.
The Battlers will remain home for another conference contest against Walsh University at 1 p.m. Saturday.
Concord 28, Wesleyan 24
ATHENS -- Kyle Akin found Caeleb Bass with just 1:01 left in the game to lift Concord to a 28-24 win over West Virginia Wesleyan Saturday afternoon in MEC play.
Akin was 14 of 21 for 133 yards and added 62 more yards on the ground.
Joshua Maxwell added a pair of rushing TDs. Tywan Pearce had seven catches for 64 yards and Fowler had 12 tackles (seven solo) and two pass break-ups, including the game-clincher in the end zone in the final seconds.
Concord (1-8, 1-7 MEC) forced four turnovers in the game (three fumbles and one
Jarrett Northrup was 32 of 46 passing for 382 yards with one interception and had one rushing score for the Bobcats (1-8, 1-7). Devin Taylor had 10 catches for 113 yards. Kord Jenkins finished with 69 yards on the ground and two scores. John Merica recorded a team-best seven tackles. Aman Speed had four tackles and 3.0 tackles for loss.
Wesleyan will host West Liberty State at 1 p.m. Saturday.
