Fairmont State runs past Lady Bobcats as Tuttle nets 25 points

ELKINS -- Victoria Diggs scored 19 points, grabbed six rebounds and dished out five assists as Frostburg State earned its first win of the season with a 71-63 Mountain East Athletic Conference victory over Davis & Elkins College Tuesday at the McDonnell Center.

Jada Holland added a double-double for the Lady Bobcats (1-5, 1-1 MEC) with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Amanda Emory chipped in 12 points and Morgan Dombroski scored 11.

Frostburg State held a slim 31-30 lead at the half before using a 23-16 scoring edge in the third quarter to take a 54-46 advantage into the final set.

Jessica Yates-Eadsforth led the Lady Senators with 13 points.

Jamiyah Johnson had a solid showing for the hosts, finishing with 11 points and a game-high 17 boards. Sydney Nestor also reached double-digits with 10 points.

D&E will return to action on Dec. 4 when the Lady Senators remain home for another conference contest against Wheeling.

Fairmont State 94, Wesleyan 60

BUCKHANNON -- North Marion High School product Presley Tuttle came off the bench to fire in 25 points as Fairmont State cruised to a 94-60 win over West Virginia Wesleyan Tuesday night in MEC play inside Rockefeller Center.

Sierra Kotchman added 22 points for the Lady Falcons, who improved to 4-3 overall and 2-0 in the MEC. Kamrin Weimer and Brooke Kurcz chipped in with 13 points each and Rachel Laskody netted 10.

Nicole Gilyard led the Lady Bobcats with 20 points. Cierra Tolbert also reached double figures with 14.

Wesleyan (3-3, 1-1) will visit MEC foe West Liberty on Dec. 4.
