Senator swim squads compete
CANTON, Ohio — The Davis & Elkins College swim teams competed in the Malone Invitational on Saturday, with several swimmers placing in their events.
The Lady Senators finished fourth out of eight teams overall, while the D&E men finished in fifth place.
Jiwh Santos continued his strong start to his career for the Senators, winning the 50-yard backstroke event with a time of 25.73. Santos would find the podium twice more on the day, with a second-place finish in the 100 IM event (55.75) and a third-place finish in the 50-yard butterfly (24.52).
Geoff Dixon came in fourth in the 100-yard backstroke (29.78). Jaime Boulier also had a strong day in the pool, finishing in fourth place in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:32.97.
Boulier finished seventh in the 200 freestyle as well.
Barbara Bernal finished with fourth-place finishes in the 50 and 100 yard butterfly events.
The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Santos, Carl Eisen, Gavin Burnham and Kamren McKinney-Lyons placed fourth and the 200-yard medley team of Dixon, Vignesh Muley, Eisen and Santos finished fifth.
D&E will compete in the Ohio Wesleyan Invitational on Saturday and Sunday in Delaware, Ohio.
