ELKINS -- Tygarts Valley and Clay-Battelle advanced to the title game of the TVHS Holiday Tournament with wins Friday night at Davis & Elkins College's McDonnell Center.
Both teams remained unbeaten on the season with the victories as the Cee-Bees (6-0) cruised past Gilmer County, 82-44, in the opening game of the tourney. The Bulldogs (4-0) moved on with a 77-53 triumph over Paw Paw in the nightcap.
"Clay-Battelle is going to be our toughest opponent to date," Tygarts Valley coach Tom Wamsley said. "They're a big team that can both handle and shoot the ball very well. It's going to be a tough test for us."
Logan George led the way for Tygarts Valley, which led 38-22 at the half and 58-38 after three quarters, with 20 points. Willie Walden added 12 points, while Ben Taylor tossed in 11.
Logan King scored 16 points to power the Pirates. Dylan Moreland followed with 15 points and Coby Ridgeway hit for 11.
Paw Paw will face Gilmer County in today's consolation game at 1 p.m.
