PETERSBURG -- Bailey Thompson scored 20 points as Pendleton County claimed a 52-37 victory over Moorefield Friday night in Petersburg Holiday Tournament action.
The Wildcats (3-0) will face host Petersburg in today's title game.
Draven Roberts added 12 points and Laird Sweet 10 for Pendleton County, which held the Yellow Jackets to just six field goals in the second half and led 32-21 at the intermission break.
"It was a solid defensive team effort," Wildcats coach Ryan Lambert said. "We have many facets of the game to improve on, but we are showing small gains each time we step on the floor.
"Content with the effort, but room for growth."
Thomas Williams led Moorefield (3-1) with 12 points. The Yellow Jackets face Union in today's consolation game.
